Optimal control strategy of photovoltaic system based autonomous micro grid for power quality improvement

<span>Due to the increasing number of distributed generation units being used in remote regions, need for reliable and flexible operation these systems has led development microgrid technology. When a operates an autonomous mode, it can experience unpredictable loads other factors that affect its operation. An optimal control mechanism is required maintain system's stability. Hence, this paper strategy power quality improvement presented. A test case single phase 3.5 kW photovoltaic (PV) system based micro grid considered. Particle swarm optimization (PSO) Harris hawks (HHO) strategies are implemented under standard variable cases. In all cases </span><span lang="EN-IN">PV mean voltage-</span><span>Vmpv (V), </span><span>PV current</span><span>-</span><span>Impv (A), </span><span>RMS voltage-</span><span>Vrms current-</span><span>Irms </span><span>mean PV power-Ppv </span><span>(W), </span><span>autonomous power-</span><span>Pg (W)</span><span>, efficiency (%), total harmonic distortion (THD) inverter losses (%) evaluated. HHO exhibits best performance comparison with PSO strategy. The improved, reduced THD improved.</span>
